• If the remote key was produced before 2016 w49:1, it must be replaced with a new variant. The production date is located on the underside of remote control. You can find the number by detaching the housing from the box and lifting the mechanical key. The date can be read as follows: digit 1 = day of the week, digits 2 and 3 = week, digit 4 = year, for example, 1496 = day 1, week 49, year 2016. When a new variant remote control is required, it must be activated via software (worth 55.66) at a Volvo dealer.
